These door stoppers were hand sculpted in clay and cast using the “cold cast” metal casting. This is when metal powder is mixed with resin/urethane that creates the look and feel of metal without having to use a foundry!

To be very clear: yes these contain real metal but they are not cast using molten metal. Casting in real metal is much more expensive and requires a specialized space and equipment. Cold casting is a common way to reproduce the look of metal but using safe and accessible materials.

These door stoppers are 7.5″ including claws x 6″ and weigh around 3-3.5 pounds. Each one has been patinaed and sealed with clear coat to preserve the oxidation.

The claws are cast separately and glued in with a brass screw to make sure they don’t go anywhere. Each paw has a non slip cushion padding underneath.

PAW A DOES NOT HAVE THE WEDGE. It will work better for lighter doors.
